AC single-phase wet-type capacitors
Single-phase capacitors for reactive power compensation and filtering applications
ABB AC wet-type capacitors are available in sizes up to 1,200 kvar per unit (at 50 Hz), and are characterized by negligible losses and high reliability.  They consist of thin dielectric polypropylene film wound together with electrodes of aluminum foils.  Fusing technologies available for these capacitors include internally fused (CHDB), externally fused (CHDE) and fuseless (CHDF) executions.
A bio-degradable hydrocarbon compound with excellent electrical properties is used as the impregnation fluid. The container is made of surface-treated high-quality steel - the bushings and terminals are of highest quality and reliability.
Applications:
Shunt reactive power compensation banks
Harmonic filters
Series capacitor solutions
SVC applications
HVDC applications

Three-phase capacitors CHDTP
Three-phase capacitors for reactive power factor requirements in medium-voltage networks
The three-phase capacitor CHDTP is a cost-effective solution for reactive power requirements in medium-voltage networks.
The capacitors consist of a thin dielectric polypropylene film wound together with electrodes of aluminum foil. Discharge resistors are built-in.
A bio-degradable hydrocarbon compound with excellent electrical properties is used as the impregnation fluid. The container is made of surface-treated high-quality steel and the bushings and terminals are of the highest quality and reliability.

Medium Voltage Capacitors Units
Medium Voltage Capacitors Three-Phases Units have all-film dielectric and are impregnated with dielectric liquid which is now PCB-free. In addition each capacitor is provided with an internal discharge resistor. All capacitors have low losses and are constructed to be light in weight. The medium voltage power capacitors comply with most national and international capacitor standards. The 3-phases capacitors HVCB 25 kVAR to 300 kVAR externally fused and QYLP 50 to 400 kVAR internally fused designs are available. High voltage single phase units complete with 1 or 2 bushings are also available.

Medium & High Voltage Power Factor Correction Banks
This type of enclosed Capacitor Bank is designed by Gentec for the power factor correction, voltage support and harmonic suppression in high voltage distribution systems. It supplies continuous reactive power compensation (group or central) of fluctuating loads in three-phase networks up to 25 kV. The bank is manufactured in two basic types; fixed or automatic.

Pole-mounted capacitor banks QPole
Cost-effective way to apply capacitors to a distribution feeder system
ABB’s pole-mounted capacitor banks provide an economical way to apply capacitors to a distribution feeder system to provide voltage support, lower system losses, release system capacity and eliminate power factor penalties. They are factory pre-wired and assembled, ready for installation. Available options include:
In-line aluminum or galvanized steel rack
Oil or vacuum switches
Junction box
Switching controller
Wildlife guards
Insulated conductor
Control power transformer
Distribution class arresters
Fused cutout
Current limiting reactors

Metal enclosed capacitor banks ABBACUS
Reactive power compensation system with modular fixed or multistage switched capacitor steps that can compensate to a preset power factor
The ABBACUS is a packaged factory assembled and tested reactive compensation system with modular fixed or switched capacitor steps, which will automatically compensate an individual load or the network to maintain a preset level of power factor. The ABBACUS is a 'one stop shop' solution comprising of an integrated package of ABB's premium range of primary and secondary equipment. Available options include:
Inrush of detuning reactors
Cooling or heating
Switched of fixed
Indoor or outdoor
Automatic or manual
Unbalance protection
Interlocking
User defined steps
Applications:
The design of the ABBACUS allows compensation for both electrical distribution utilities and large industrial power users including mining, pulp and paper, chemical, petrochemical, wind farms, plastics and heavy industries.

Metal enclosed capacitor banks EMPAC
Fixed metal enclosed reactive power compensation bank for distribution substations and for wind farms
The EMPAC is a metal enclosed fixed capacitor bank installed to provide fixed capacitive reactive power compensation. The EMPAC improves the quality of the electrical supply and the efficient operation of the system. Its installation has other beneficial effects on the system such as: improvement of the voltage at the load, better voltage regulation, reduction of losses and reduction of investments in transmission.
Applications:
Suitable for applications with little space thanks to its compact design
Available for indoor/outdoor installation
Available with and without SF6 circuit breaker depending on the customer needs
Applications up to 36 kV
